The Czech Minister of Culture has visited the Bottom Area of Vítkovice

On Tuesday, 18th January 2011, visited VÍTKOVICE MACHINERY GROUP the Czech Minister of Culture, HE Mr. Jiří Besser. After an official welcome by Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of VÍTKOVICE HOLDING, Mr. Jan Světlík, the Minister witnessed in the Bottom Area of Vítkovice the beginning of transformation of the Gas-holder into a multifunction aula. This transformation has started by lifting of a bell of the Gas-holder, which is going to rise from the current 13 meters into twice of its height during the next one month. The reconstruction is a part of the project New Vítkovice. “The project has our support. It has a great chance to reach the funds designated for protection of monuments,” stated the Minister. His visit continued in the LANDEK PARK – Mining Museum in Ostrava – Petřkovice, which is operated by the Association of Bottom Vítkovice.
